MENIERE'S & TINNITUS:

Meniere's Disease affects the inner ear and is characterized by episodes of dizziness, vertigo and progressive hearing loss. Tinnitus is a disease that produces buzzing or constant ringing in the ears. Both ear related diseases affect more than 40 million people

IHF offers monthly meeting at no charge for Meniere's and Tinnitus sufferers and their caregivers. The meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month from 10am until Noon in the lower level auditorium of Riverside Park Plaza building (adjacent to Fairview Riverside Hospital), 701 25th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN.

The monthly meetings are open to anyone wishing to attend. This includes, but is not limited to, patients with Meniere's or Tinnitus, spouses, parents or other caregivers.

The monthly meetings focus on coping skills for these chronic diseases, as well as relating to people that share these disorders. Guest speakers in the past have included doctors, audiologists, lawyers, chiropractors, physical therapists and hypnotherapists, who share their knowledge, viewpoints and respond to questions. Group discussions are a part of the meeting and we find that sharing with true peers can be very beneficial.

Previous discussion have included:

  • Living and Coping with Meniere's and Tinnitus
  • Coping in the Workplace
  • Medical Research
  • Emotional Impact
  • Exercises and Diet
  • Acupuncture
